"This Was A Lovetrip" pays homage to Takako Mamiyas "Love Trip" every song is constructed by only using samples by Takako Mamiya. I wanted to deconstruct and rebuild the record. What I was looking for in the rubble of these songs was a new way to be sincere, a way that would still be possible today. While working on it, I discovered an unexpected depth inside this old and famous city pop record, that was almost forgotten.

This history of "Love Trip" moves me. The record was almost forgotten, and nobody knows what happened to Takako Mamiya (if anyone knows, pls send me some information). And yet the Internet brought it back. Within the outer periphery of what is called "vaporwave" this record somehow appeared. And it seems like it is here to stay for the near future at least.

I feel like there are a lot of images sonically embedded within "Love Trip". They say something about what love is, how it should feel like. In that regard it is very similar to a lot of other forms of pop culture. In the light of these Images, the world feels very inadequate to me, but in the process of rebuilding the songs, I realized that I could create very different images from the same material. Images that felt more real to me.

It makes me very happy to finish this project finally, thanks to all the people who encouraged me and who believe in me. I don't know where I would be without you
